Abstract

Yes, we know it: people don’t want to read. Unless your technical content is produced with several shades of gray, it’s probably not especially compelling reading on its own. If it doesn’t answer customers’ questions or help them reach their goals, they’re more likely to call support out of frustration. And if it’s stuck into massive PDFs or piles of unusable topics, customers are unlikely to find it. Of course, that saves them lots of reading time.

Dr. JoAnn Hackos, Comtech President and Director of the Center for Information-Development Management (CIDM), demonstrates how using a minimalist approach in developing content is more relevant today than ever before. Busy customers simply want simple help on performing a task and getting a job done. Learn what minimalism really feels like. Learn about designing minimalist information that gets your customers coming back for more.
